Sweet Potato Burger Explained

Ingredients (for 4 burgers)

  • 100 grams black beans (canned, rinsed and drained)

  • 1 sweet potato

  • 6 mushrooms

  • 80 grams oats

  • 50 grams walnuts

  • 1 red onion, chopped

  • 1 1/2 cloves of garlic

  • 1 teaspoon cumin

  • 1 teaspoon paprika powder

  • 1/4 teaspoon chili powder

  • salt to taste

Preparation Method

  • Preheat the oven to 200 degrees.

  • Peel the potato, slice it, and place the slices on a baking sheet with a little oil.

  • Roast the potato for about 30 minutes until it is soft.

  • Then, put all the other ingredients in a food processor and blend until a firm batter forms.

  • Chill the batter in the refrigerator or freezer for a while.

  • Form flat patties from the mixture and briefly fry them in a frying pan.

  • Place them on a baking sheet and bake for 25-30 minutes in the oven. The longer they stay in the oven, the more they will dry out.

  • Serve on a bun with some iceberg lettuce, pickles, tomato, and sauce of your choice.
