Protein-rich mango ice cream with lemon

In the summer, do you crave ice cream but not the amounts of sugar, fat, and calories that come with it? Then this protein-rich mango ice cream with lemon is the solution! Due to the lack of added sugars and cream, this ice cream is much lower in calories, yet still deliciously fresh and creamy!

Protein-rich mango ice cream with lemon explained

This ice cream is very high in protein due to the addition of whey isolate. Perfect if you struggle to get enough proteins through regular food. You can make this ice cream with any type of fruit, just whatever you have at home. The ice cream has a rather thin texture; if you want it thicker, you can put it in the freezer for a while after preparing. Just remember to stir it occasionally to prevent ice crystals from forming.

Ingredients for 1 person:

– 100 grams of frozen fruit (I used mango)
– juice of a quarter lemon
– 25 grams of whey isolate (available from us)
– 40 ml semi-skimmed milk

Preparation method:
Put all the ingredients in a good food processor/blender and blend until it becomes a creamy mixture. Sometimes it is necessary to scrape down the ingredients during blending to ensure everything is incorporated.

TIP! Want a texture more like a fluffy smoothie? Then add a bit more liquid. The combination of whey isolate and frozen fruit makes the smoothie very airy. Let it blend a little longer once everything is well mixed; this will make it nice and fluffy!
